Donny Everhart from Dixon Financial & Insurance Services was our speaker this week. He started out with an introduction about the DNA and its purpose. He then went on to explain about the many different types of insurance products offered from his company. Since his company is an independent insurance broker, he is able to present quotes from many insurance companies. This allows him to provide multiple quotes from different companies. He also provided many examples of the importance of having enough coverage for different policies. Questions were asked and answered.

Greg Parker reminded everyone that our photocopiers we own save the information we copy and that we should remember to properly erase the hard drive before donation or disposal. Richard Mason pointed out simple formating does not remove the drives information, but only erases the directory and that a special free program can completely do the job. Theresa Schilling announced a promotion involving the sale of gift baskets for the Dixon High School Grad Night. Mark Heckey announced that the city of Dixon was hosting a booth at the Solano County Fair in Vallejo in June and was looking for volunteers to run the booth and promote their business. Donny Everhart announced that Dane Besneatt was hosting a Ribbon Cutting at his office this Thursday May 6th at 10am.

Our scheduled speaker Jill Orr was unable to attend, so Debra Dingman gave an excellent presentation about the DDBA (Downtown Dixon Business Association) fund raising events including the Grillin’ & Chillin’ Rib & Chili Cook-Off which is an all day, old fashioned street fair in Downtown Dixon on Saturday, July 31, 2010. She also mentioned the other events that the DDBA sponsors throughout the year as a way to bring awareness of the group activities and raise the necessary funds to keep the organization in operation.

Several leads were exchanged and discussion was made about the importance of this lead referral program as a core of our DNA group activities.

A quick announcement reminding everyone that the next meeting was at Accardi’s on First Street and Debra Dingman was our scheduled speaker. Since Debra spoke this week, she elected Jill Orr to speak next week and our meeting was adjourned.
